Beauty and some Beasts...

Exciting and fun new things have been showing up around here everyday.

How much fun is a brand new S10...

And this sweet little Victoria...she even has her own little suitcase she folds up into.  Just the thing for those spinning sleep-overs (you laugh...but how much fun would that be!) ...

And this is a brand new Wheel called the Mach I.  It treadles a whole new way and is incredibly smooth...like buttah.

And these...Ack!  They take me by surprise every time...

Our newest addition to our farm...Guinea fowl.  Besides being hideous ugly,... (don't you just love the horn on the top of the head, sort of Teenage Mutant Ninja Chickens...heavy on the mutant)...and completely wild, they make a noise like finger nails on a blackboard (except about 500 times louder).  Why bring such creatures to our little Instead homestead of happiness?

Because this is their favorite meal...Tick_2

And besides being even uglier and less cuddly than a Guinea...they suck blood.

So, chow down Guinea fowl.  Every day this summer, that I don't have to pull a tick off the tender parts of a 10 year-old boy, I will be very grateful for your unattractive existence...

oooohhh...I hate ticks! We didn't really have them in the Adirondacks. (I miss NY, too. Mountains and lakes, oh my!) When we moved to PA, I was horrified to find ticks all over the kids. and the cat? She has GOT to have Lyme Disease by now. I wonder if the Homeowner's Association would mind a couple of free range guinea fowl?

I just googled the Mach 1 spinning wheel, it seems amazing easy. Do you really like it? Thanks.

Wow, that last spinning wheel looks very interesting! What kind is it?

My Great Aunt used to raise Guinnea for "watch dogs." It used to drive me nuts to walk to her house for my afterschool job of gathering eggs, all lost in my thoughts and make-believe and have that call they make shake me out of it! Yes, the chalkboard description is right-on! But I suppose I can understand if they eat blood sucking insects...

Love your new toys!

I just brought home 4 guineas today too! Pearls, just like yours. I love their purple collars (you have to get close to see them).

Pix on my blog, but they look just like yours :)

Oh, the Guinnea Love! They MAKE a farm to me. :)

They're awesome watch dogs and yep - they'll eat every last tick they can find.

Great new toys! WooHoo! Is your shop already open?

Most emphatically do not sneak up ona Guinea Fowl! The noise they make will turn your hair gray! I'm glad to hear they are proven tick eaters.

The Mach I is really awesome. It is not a light wheel, but it's spinning action is to die for.
